Ryanair have recently announced that they will be increasing the number of flights at Palma and making the airport its 49th operating base, which will bring around 2.8 million extra visitors every year to Majorca. The main terminal at Palma Airport was designed by Pere Nicolau Bonet, a local architect, and the official opening ceremony took place on April 12 1997. Transfer from Palma AirportOnce you land at Palma Airport, your holiday has really started. There are various ways that you can be transferred from Palma Airport to your resort. TaxiA taxi from Palma Airport to Palma city centre should cost around € 15 to € 20. The transfer times from Palma Airport obviously depend on which resort you are staying at, and it is often when people find out their transfer times they realise that Majorca is a bigger island than they originally thought. Tourist Shuttle BusIf you have booked a package holiday with one of the larger tour operators there will be shuttle buses awaiting your arrival to take you to your destination. If you have booked a private taxi in advance the drivers will stand in a designated place holding up boards with the names of their respective passengers on them.
